Who We Serve

Healing Home by United for Better supports adults ages 18 and older who benefit from a structured, family-style environment that promotes dignity, belonging, independence, and community connection. Many of the individuals we serve have mental health needs, developmental disabilities, cognitive delays, chronic health conditions, trauma histories, early cognitive decline, or other challenges that make independent living difficult while also making larger institutional settings feel overwhelming, isolating, or impersonal. We provide a family-style home environment for: • Adults with developmental disabilities, autism, cognitive delays, or other lifelong support needs whose aging parents or caregivers can no longer provide full-time care but still wish to remain actively involved in their loved one’s life. • Adults living with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other behavioral health needs who benefit from medication reminders, daily structure, wellness support, community engagement, and a stable home environment. • Adults managing chronic health conditions who may need support with routines, appointments, medication reminders, healthy living habits, and maintaining their independence. • Individuals with trauma histories who thrive in smaller, relationship-based settings that emphasize safety, consistency, trust, and respect. • Adults with documented mental health, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral health needs who have aged out of foster care, lack stable family supports, and would benefit from a structured, family-style living environment as recommended by their provider, treatment team, managed care organization, or other referral source. • Adults experiencing early dementia, memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, or cognitive decline who require additional support while maintaining dignity, purpose, and quality of life. • Adults experiencing social isolation, limited family support, or significant life transitions who benefit from structure, connection, and a smaller home environment where they are truly known, respected, and valued. Healing Home fills the gap between independent living and institutional care by providing personalized support in a safe, home-like environment while helping individuals maintain the highest level of independence possible.
